Tweep + Podcast = TweepCast

A Tweep is “A person with a mutual following on www.twitter.com” example – “At the tweetup I hung out with my tweeps.”
- From Urban Dictionary

A Podcast is “a series of digital media files, usually either digital audio or video, that is made available for download via web syndication”. – Wikipedia

A TweepCast is more than just a podcast recorded with your “Tweeps”, all the audio is posted to Twitter, and the listener can follow the recording live with hashtags. The audio can also be compiled and distributed as a standard podcast.

My initial format for the TweetCast will be this:

- The host will post an audio introduction for the topic of the TweetCast.

- Scheduled guests or listeners will then post their audio response on Twitter with the use of a hashtag, so other Twitter users can follow the audio conversation and contribute.

- After the live TweetCast described above takes place, all the audio will be downloaded and edited into a podcast that will be distributed via RSS.

I will post again when the first TweepCast is to be recorded.
